Existing for more than 100 years, the organization “Boy Scouts of America”
unveiled more than 14,500 pages of documents that contain
facts of sexual abuse of squad leaders, as well as adults
volunteers over little boys.
The Supreme Court in Oregon decided to make public
documents that relate to the period 1959-1985, despite
organization protests. Before deciding to release documents
there was a lawsuit, according to the BBC.
According to US media, there are several thousand
episodes of sexual abuse against children. From documents
it becomes clear that the leaders of the organization of boy scouts as well as
police officers, prosecutors and even mayors tried to hide many
allegations of sexual abuse thus covering
the crimes committed.
Another interesting fact is that in many cases, pedophiles are just
dismissed from office without reporting them to the local authorities. And in a row
cases of pedophiles were sent for psychological treatment, after which
they returned to work with the children again. Already proven that
some of them continued child abuse and after
“treatment”.
Now scouting organizations promise to re-examine
published documents and report back to the police on cases that are not
have been investigated to this day. It is worth noting that about many documents
it was known before, but now for the first time access is granted
to materials that cover the period 1959-1971.
Documents announced by lawyer Kelly Clark, who hails from the city
Portland He received them in 2010, when he defended his interests in court
the man who was abused in the 80s. deputy leader
scout squad.
I wonder what facts will be revealed, if suddenly the public
documents will be available for the period from 1971 to today
day? Although most likely to find out it will have 40 years
wait.
