Send the New Year cards invented by the British. More precisely, they
sent them for Christmas and are actively sending them so far – this
has become a kind of tradition. In Russia, while there was no electronic
mail, people also liked to congratulate distant relatives and friends
in this manner. Now that the internet has come to every region and
almost every house, many have forgotten the way to the post. Online

Portal “Women’s opinion” conducted a survey among residents of Russia,
to learn whether they adhere to the tradition of congratulating dear ones
people using postcards.
Of the one hundred percent of respondents, 45.7% are not going to send at all
postcards. Who can not be congratulated personally, so they call
New Year’s Eve or a day or two later. 38.6% prefer virtual
postcards due to the variety and convenience of sending. Besides,
such a postcard is not so pathetic to erase as to throw away the real one
which is not necessary, but pleasant as a memory.
6.2% are conservative in this regard and choose real cards,
smelling inks and New Year’s mood. Such
postcards are valuable because people are not too lazy to go to the post office and
write by hand a couple of phrases to the person to whom it was intended.
Some buy them to hand in person in addition to
gift.
And the remaining 9.5% of respondents reported that they would combine both
way of congratulations. These cards will be sent to those who love
getting them is usually older people.
The survey shows that although most have already refused
from the good old tradition nevertheless some
the beauty of congratulations written by hand. After all, it is beautiful
the memory of beautiful days and loved ones that remains in
an album or a bookshelf behind glass for a long, long time.
2410 people from 142 cities of Russia took part in the survey.
The age of the respondents is from 20 to 45 years.
