Maya predicted us the end of the world in 2012. In connection with
the approaching hour “X” many people think about what awaits
us on the other side of life, and in search of an answer, they strike religion.
Going to a monastery as a search for the meaning of life and death is a difficult and
responsible step to God. Since ancient times, Russian kings exiled to monasteries
objectionable women and annoying wives. But hardly violent
imprisonment in a holy place could arouse strong religious
the senses. Portal “Women’s opinion” decided to find out whether
modern women voluntarily changing worldly vanity
solitude in a monastery.
Despite the fact that the end of the world is already on its nose, women continue
remain optimistic and become a nun in no hurry. More than a half –
59.2% answered “No, I never wanted to go to the monastery”.
Periodically, this desire arises in 23.6% of respondents, but then
something stops them. Obviously, the solution is pure
emotional. And this is good: because if they once meet with
in spirit, according to the demographic situation of the country will be inflicted
crushing blow.
15.5% not only believe in a bright future after the end of the world, but also
appreciate the other joys of life, and therefore believe that if you really go to
monastery – so in the male! Perhaps there are no comments here.
Only 1.7% of women surveyed seriously decided
sooner or later go to the monastery.
The survey showed that Russian women are aware of the seriousness
of this act, but almost none of them feel that
degrees of despair when there is nowhere else to go and help to look for
nowhere except in the monastery.
Among other things, in the course of the survey it turned out that many
they consider the monastery to be a sect, which must be sure to unsubscribe everything
property, starting with the apartment and ending with a toothbrush. Someone
afraid that there will have to work from dawn to dusk. Other
on the contrary, they consider the monastery to be something like a sanatorium.
In fairness it should be noted that immediately go to the monastery
as a nun you most likely will not succeed. First you
offer to live there as a pilgrim or novice so that you
could get to know the monastic way of life more closely and decided,

The survey was conducted among 2330 women from 102 cities of Russia from 20
up to 45 years.
